Healing through Connection
Welcome— I’m glad you found your way here.
I’m Megan Shambaugh, a licensed psychotherapist in NYC. I specialize in providing individual therapy to adults working through trauma, relational challenges, and identity concerns.
At the heart of my work as a therapist is the belief that healing happens through connection, when we feel seen, understood, and supported in exploring who we are. In today’s fast-paced, individualistic society, it’s not uncommon to feel a sense of disconnection - from ourselves, others and the world around us. My intention as a therapist is to show up authentically, and to facilitate an experience of shared humanity to help you reconnect with yourself, in your relationships, and to your environment.
I incorporate aspects of spirituality, creativity, movement, and a love for nature into my work. For many people, healing is not just about talking, but about connecting with deeper sources of meaning, expression, and embodiment. Whether that means honoring your spiritual background, using creative processes, or drawing on the grounding power of nature and mindful movement, I strive to support the whole self—mind, body, and spirit.
Above all, my goal is to provide a space that feels authentic, steady, and attuned—where meaningful change is created and where you feel less alone in the process.
